Apple Watch Series 2 Review

Back in September when the new Apple Watch Series 2 came out, I gifted the 42mm one to my boyfriend Eric for his birthday. The plan was that he would eventually get me one for my birthday, but I told him not to because I wouldn't use it. I thought it was cool and all, but I just thought I wouldn't wear it and with the expensive price tag, I didn't want to waste money on it. Eric has worn his Apple Watch every day and loves it! So around New Years, I was trying to get to sign up for BBG, my workout app I used earlier in the year and realized that the app now worked on Apple Watches. Since I was interested in getting back in shape and working out regularly I thought instead of buying a Fitbit, which is around $130, I could spend a little extra and just get the Apple Watch Series 2 that does everything a Fitbit can but is also a functional smart watch, being able to do as much as your phone can. I found an awesome deal on Best Buy for an open-box gold 32mm watch, the open-box just means it doesn't come with the original box, but it will come with everything like the extra watch strap, charger, etc. The watch was brand new, but $65 cheaper so I felt like it was worth it.

FOR WORKING OUT: After one week of constantly wearing the Apple Watch (except when I sleep) I can tell you it was 100% worth the splurge. I honestly thought I would only wear it well working out, but the fact that it keeps track of your activity, steps, standing, heart rate, etc., it has become a fun challenge for me to try to achieve the daily goal.  If you are a part of the BBG app, having the watch can show you your heart rate throughout the workout, how many calories you are burning, it basically is the iPhone app on your wrist which is very convenient. If you aren't a part of the BBG community (blog post coming soon about this) there is a little symbol on the watch that looks like a stick figure running, click on that and you can see a whole list of exercises and activities. Examples include outdoor walking, stair stepper, and pool swim. You just click on one of them and start your workout.

FOR EVERYDAY USE: I have worn my watch every day since I have gotten it. I love that I don't have to have my phone out all the time. Whenever I get a text message it will vibrate on my arm, I can look really quick at the message and respond if necessary. I love how convenient and easy it is to use. I also really like that it keeps track of my steps, I can check the weather and time obviously. It is really hard to explain, but it has made things so much easier for me and I love using Siri as a personal assistant.

FAVORITE FEATURES: I love how everything is just so convenient. I love that you can read text messages at a glance and not have to pull out your phone. I would have to stay some of my favorite features would be the find your phone button (click it and your phone will bing, so if you miss placed your phone you can find it!), the fitness tracker, and Siri (she's basically a personal assistant on your wrist!).

IS IT WORTH THE MONEY?: At first, I would have said no, like before I got the watch. But now I say it is 100% worth it. If you wear it and use it every day, it'll become as important and useful as your phone is. I have some pretty nice watches that cost almost as much as this Apple Watch did but all they do is tell me the time, where this does so much more! I highly recommend buying if you have been thinking about it.
