Burgundy Skater Skirt

What I Wore: Skirt: Marshalls (Similar) / Shirt: Tommy Hilfiger (Similar) / Boots: Steve Madden / Socks: Forever 21 / Sunnies: Kate Spade / Pearl Monogram Necklace: Viv and Lou

One of my go to jewelry pieces is my monogram necklace. It's such a classic personalized piece, that has a lot of meaning. The one I wear everyday is a simple gold monogram necklace that my parents gave to me on Christmas. The necklace I'm wearing today is a beautiful pearl necklace (how classy!) with a tortoise colored monogram! I got it from Viv and Lou. They have amazing personalized pieces with the best prices around!  This necklace is perfect way to make a statement with a classic piece.

Leather has been a huge trend lately, my favorite is leather leggings, but I'll style those later. This skater skirt is a must have piece in anyones closet. It's easy to transition from day to night, which for me is a must! The color is an added bonus, it's such a perfect color for fall and winter. Trying colored leather is fun, how would you wear a leather skirt?

This week I decided to link up with The Fashion Canvas and Walking in Memphis in High Heels to try the trend suede and leather, join in for yourself using the link below!

How To Tie A Blanket Scarf (Plus A GIveaway!!)

My favorite trend this fall and winter is the blanket scarf! It honestly is amazing, and I love the coloring (I also have it in tartan!) When I first ordered it, I really wasn't expecting it to be the actual size of a blanket, so it took time to figure out how to style it, and tie it. Following a bunch of different bloggers,  there are many ways to tie the blanket scarf, but this is my favorite!

Blanket Scarf Tutorial:
1. Fold your blanket scarf in to a triangle, having the 2 opposite corners together.
2. Throw the two ends behind your back
3. Cross the two ends you placed behind your back
4. Pull those ends back to the front (after you've crossed them)
5. Cross the two end in the inside the pocket of your scarf so they aren't visible

Now that you know how to tie a blanket scarf, you need one! So to help you out even more I'm giving away a a blanket scarf to one lucky winner! All you have to do in follow my Instagram (@monobelleprep) (direct link is in upper right corner), it's as easy as that!

Hot Pink Hearts

What I Wore: Sweater: Gap (Similar) / Heart Blouse: Forever 21 (Similar) / Jeans: American Eagle / Riding Boots: Tory Burch (Similar) / Sunnies: Ray Ban /  Pave Bracelet: J.crew

With Valentine's day right around the corner I'm feeling very inspired to wear pink, red, and hearts! Last weekend well shopping at my local thrift store I came across this neon pink sweater from the gap! Of course the color caught my eyer, but so did the price! For only $1.99, a sweater that looked brand new, I had to snatch it up! When I found it matched perfectly with this heart blouse, which is a perfect dupe for the J.crew version for less than half the price, I didn't see a reason not to pair the two! Looking forward to creating more Valentine day outfits as we come up on this fun, festive holiday!
